Years after fight left him near death, man returns to college and ‘accepts’ new life – he #ConquerABI

He was blindsided by a punch to the head and hit the pavement so hard, he shattered his skull and spent the better part of a year fighting for his life.

Since that February 2014 day, Jackie Lithgow, a 2013 Boiling Springs High School graduate, has shown his true warrior spirit, along the way capturing the well wishes of his community and people across Pennsylvania as he rehabilitated himself back to health.

Lithgow this week celebrated his 23rd birthday – sharing cake with members of his favorite sports team, the Philadelphia Flyers and once again showing the rest of the world his tenacity and determination.

“We are blessed,” his father, Jim Lithgow said Thursday night from his home in Carlisle. “All of us as a family we have a different outlook on life … it’s phenomenal.”
